HIL Test Engineer - System Test

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test plans, procedures, and automated test cases
• Build, configure, maintain, and improve HIL benches, test harnesses, and network setups
• Translate requirements and safety needs into repeatable HIL tests
• Expand automated regression coverage for system behavior
• Execute and troubleshoot tests involving embedded controllers and vehicle subsystems
• Analyze logs, telemetry, and traces to identify anomalies and support root-cause analysis
• Track HIL test failures from discovery through closure
• Improve test automation, simulators, tooling, and reporting workflows
• Support readiness reviews by preparing evidence on test environment readiness
• Collaborate with embedded software, autonomy, and vehicle engineering teams
• Build lightweight tools, scripts, or dashboards for test work

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering
• 4+ years of experience in system test, HIL testing, embedded systems test, or autonomous systems
• Experience developing or executing integration-level or system-level tests
• Experience working with complex electromechanical or cyber-physical systems
• Ability to analyze logs, telemetry, and test data using Python or equivalent tools
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building or maintaining HIL benches and automated regression frameworks
• Experience with embedded systems, controller testing, and vehicle networks
• Ability to read, modify, or write C/C++ for embedded systems
• Experience with Python-based test automation and data analysis
• Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or safety-critical mobility platforms
• Experience with requirements or issue-tracking tools like Jama, DOORS, or Jira
• Working knowledge of safety or transportation standards such as ISO 26262 or EN 50126
