About the role
Responsibilities
- Stand scheduled remote watches overseeing live hydrographic data acquisition on USV missions
- Monitor sonar performance, sound velocity profiles and oceanographic sensor health
- Coordinate with Mission Pilots and Lead Surveyor on survey line plans and coverage
- Perform data processing, cleaning and QA checks during active survey shifts
- Diagnose sensor and data logging errors in real time
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety standards and hydrographic regulations
- Provide documented status reports and shift handoffs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Hydrography, Oceanography, Geomatics, Remote Sensing or related field
- 3+ years in the survey or geoscience industry
- Familiarity with multibeam systems and acquisition software
- Ability to work irregular hours, rotating weekends and shift work
Preferred Qualifications
- Category A/B Hydrographer Certification
- NSPS-THSOA Certified Hydrographer
- 3+ years processing bathymetric data with Qimera or CARI
- USV or autonomous system survey experience
