Localization Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Be fluent in the localization team's designs at the source-code level using C++
• Own the algorithm and test requirements capture process
• Write and own simulation and track test scenarios to validate localization systems
• Implement Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing
• Champion strong unit test coverage across the codebase
• Pursue systems-level solutions to unblock algorithm and hardware work
• Collaborate with safety and autonomy teams to fine-tune algorithm configurations
• Conduct and receive code and requirements reviews

Requirements

• Experience with requirements management tools like Jama
• Familiarity with safety qualification standards related to localization accuracy
• MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related systems engineering field
• Hands-on and adaptable approach to problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong background in localization algorithms and estimation theory (Kalman filtering, pose graph optimization)
• Familiarity with LIDAR, computer vision, and mapping/calibration
• Proficiency in C++ for navigating complex source code
• Radar experience is a plus
