About the Company

Glydways is reimagining what public transit can be. We are building a groundbreaking network of carbon-neutral, interconnected transit pathways powered by standardized autonomous vehicles on dedicated roadways to provide high-capacity, affordable, and sustainable mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Champion design through the lens of mechanical engineering, guiding the team through complex tradeoffs.
  • Bridge design intent and engineering execution by partnering with Industrial Design and UX teams.
  • Own physical vehicle architecture, managing micro-tolerance loops and high-density component integration.
  • Drive advanced CAD and surfacing, leading the development of high-quality Class-A surfaces and digital master models.
  • Perform rapid prototyping and validation using CNC, 3D printing, and custom fabrication.
  • Design for high-volume manufacturability (DFM) including injection molding, thermoforming, and composites.
  • Collaborate with external manufacturing vendors for molding validation and factory bring-up.
  • Establish physical cosmetic standards, texture finishes, and tolerance guidelines.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of experience as a Product Design Engineer, Studio Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience working closely with Industrial Design teams in automotive, consumer hardware, or mobility sectors.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating complex physical architecture and high-volume production history.
  • Exceptional proficiency in advanced 3D surfacing and master-modeling (Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks).
  • Deep knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mass-production techniques.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment.
