Sr. Manager, Data Center Controls

Responsibilities

• Develop and own EPMS and BMS design standards and technical specifications
• Establish and enforce controls architecture criteria for power monitoring and mechanical plant control
• Define standards for controls network architecture and OT cybersecurity hardening
• Drive continuous improvement of data center automation and alarm management
• Lead evaluation and standardization of controls platforms and sensors
• Provide technical review across all project phases from feasibility to commissioning
• Oversee development of points lists, sequences of operation, and network diagrams
• Build, mentor, and lead an internal controls engineering team
• Evaluate strategy for AI/HPC-ready controls and digital twin capability
• Participate in relevant industry organizations like ASHRAE and Uptime Institute

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive controls or instrumentation engineering experience in mission-critical facilities
• Demonstrated experience leading EPMS/BMS design on hyperscale or colocation data center projects
• Experience as a technical owner or discipline lead on large capital projects
• Experience managing or mentoring engineering staff and external systems integrators
• Deep knowledge of EPMS architecture including power monitoring and protective relay integration
• Deep knowledge of BMS architecture including DDC controls and sequences of operation
• Proficiency with protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, SNMP, and IEC 61850
• Familiarity with OT cybersecurity best practices and NIST/IEC 62443 frameworks
