Staff Engineer — Data Platform

Responsibilities

• Define data platform architecture and lead technical initiatives end-to-end
• Act as a technical reference point for the Data team, setting standards for quality, testing, and observability
• Design and implement scalable, low-latency data pipelines for high-volume payment transactions
• Build performant and reliable data models to support fraud detection, revenue analytics, and regulatory reporting
• Own platform reliability, including SLAs, data quality, alerting, and incident response
• Partner with Product, AI, and Finance teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and design sessions

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data or software engineering, with 2+ years at a staff or principal level
• Deep expertise in designing and building large-scale data platforms (streaming, batch, or hybrid)
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, or StarRocks
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Solid understanding of data modeling techniques such as dimensional modeling or Data Vault
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Professional proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the payments or fintech industry
• Familiarity with dbt, Great Expectations, or similar tools
• Experience with event-driven services and data mesh approaches
• Exposure to ML platform design or feature store infrastructure
