Responsibilities

• Guide the turbine/expander development roadmap and system architecture
• Provide senior-level mentorship to engineers on design approaches and testing priorities
• Review and refine thermodynamic cycle models and performance projections
• Advise on blade geometry, flow efficiency, and component integration
• Oversee prototype testing methodologies and performance validation
• Provide guidance on safety standards, mechanical integrity, and regulatory compliance
• Support evaluation of manufacturing pathways and vendor selection
• Leverage industry networks to secure partnerships and pilot opportunities

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience with steam turbines, expanders, ORC systems, or similar rotating equipment
• Deep familiarity with geothermal, waste-heat recovery, or thermal-to-power systems
• Expert understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and structural considerations
• Proven track record leading or advising engineering teams on complex mechanical systems
• Strong industry network within turbomachinery or geothermal energy ecosystems

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in mechanical engineering, turbomachinery, or thermal sciences
• Ability to translate complex technical issues for mixed audiences
