Job description
Responsibilities
- Model and support a learner-centered, hands-on classroom environment that promotes learner engagement and participation.
- Ensure that students reach the expected age-related outcomes for Chemistry.
- Gain an understanding of working with Arab youth who will study Chemistry in English.
- Create a positive, active, language-rich learning environment.
- Support the learning process by identifying needs and guiding students to achieve their learning objectives.
- Ensure assessments are delivered according to the assessment strategy and guidelines, in a valid and rigorous manner.
- Maintain an accurate record of student achievement and performance.
- Create positive and effective relationships with colleagues.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full-time teaching experience in schools for expats (after graduation)
- 2+ years full-time teaching experience in schools if the candidate possesses one of the following that is regarded as a teaching qualification: Relevant bachelor's degree (Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry; Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering; Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Math (combined); Bachelor of Education in Chemistry (3-year degree)
- Excellent level of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT Language proficiency test required or an equivalent to it), which candidates should provide within six months of joining the MOE. (TOEFL score of 79-93 required)
- No previous teaching experience required for Emirati Nationals
- Relevant bachelor's degree (Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry; Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry)
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 for Emirati candidates
- English Level: Excellent level of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT certificate or equivalent to it) should be provided within six months from joining MOE
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Arab youth
- Familiarity with international educational standards
- Strong communication skills
