Consultant, Security Design Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage security design consulting engagements to a professional standard, independently and in support of senior colleagues and the Director.
• Act as a subject matter expert in electronic security systems, managing design and installation projects from conception to completion.
• Undertake technical security reviews, audits, design surveys, installation inspections and approvals, both on-site and in the office.
• Design physical and electronic security systems, working with specialist engineers within project design teams.
• Act as the lead consultant on assignments, providing problem-solving and ensuring client best interests.
• Lead and participate in client and project meetings, maintain time and expense records.
• Deliver tasks for clients on time, on budget, and to a high standard; collaborate with the team.
• Travel may be required to client sites and Control Risks offices within the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
• Seek opportunities to develop business and participate in business development and marketing events.
• Provide expert knowledge of security consulting and related service lines.

Requirements

• Background in security integration, design, consulting, or engineering, with experience designing electronic and physical security systems.
• In-depth knowledge of CCTV, access control, and other security technologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build client relationships and explain complex concepts.
• Hands-on experience delivering enterprise-class electronic security solutions.
• Experience managing technical consulting engagements.
• Knowledge of national and international security standards and installation practices.
• Project management experience within the built environment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam design software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing physical security systems (fencing, gates, walls, doors, facades).
• Experience using design-related software such as Revit, SketchUp, MS Project.
• Security or engineering qualifications; ASIS PSP or similar is desirable.
• Leadership skills and ability to drive performance of a team of security professionals.
• High-level report writing skills and ability to communicate with senior leaders.
