Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support end-to-end implementation, configuration, optimisation, and ongoing support of Dynamics 365 Finance modules.
  • Act as a bridge between business finance stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring requirements are understood, translated, and delivered according to best practice.
  • Champion continuous process improvement so finance systems support strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and scalability.
  • Elicit, analyse, and document detailed business requirements from finance stakeholders (FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, controllership).
  • Translate requirements into functional design specifications, fit-gap analyses, and solution proposals.
  • Configure and implement core D365 Finance modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Budgeting, and Project Accounting.
  • Define and verify integrations with other systems (tax engines, procurement/supply chain, reporting tools).
  • Lead workshops, training sessions, UAT, and data migration activities.
  • Produce documentation (process maps, configuration guides, user manuals).
  • Provide go-live support, post-implementation stabilization, and continuous improvement suggestions.
  • Ensure financial compliance (UK GAAP, IFRS), audit requirements, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with technical consultants, solution architects, project managers, and external partners/vendors.
  • Stay updated on D365 Finance enhancements and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) as a D365 Finance Functional Consultant or similar role, with full or substantial lifecycle implementation experience.
  • Deep knowledge of finance processes and best practices (GL, AR, AP, FA, cash management, budgeting, period-end close).
  • Strong understanding of ERP integration, data migration, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, able to engage with business users and translate technical detail.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving and fit-gap analysis skills.
  • Experience in matrix/cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Comfortable with structured/governed environments and agile or hybrid project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (MB-310: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, MB-300, etc.).
  • Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, multinational implementations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, statutory, tax, and audit requirements in UK/Europe (VAT, IFRS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Lifecycle Services (LCS), Azure DevOps, RSAT, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery, DevOps practices.
  • Exposure to financial reporting, BI tools, dashboarding.
