Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate small to mid-size project teams on transport planning tasks and projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive transport studies and provide technical guidance in traffic engineering, smart cities, and transport modeling.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex transport challenges.
  • Manage project deliverables, allocate tasks, and ensure high-quality presentations and reports.
  • Serve as a key client contact for projects and proposals.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews and offer constructive feedback.
  • Mentor and manage team members to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Contribute to strategic direction for the transport planning department.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Represent AECOM at client meetings, industry events, and stakeholder consultations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, or related discipline.
  • 10-15 years’ experience in transportation engineering and planning.
  • Deep understanding of transport planning and modeling principles.
  • Expertise with Cube Voyager, PTV VISUM, SIDRA, Synchro, HCS+.
  • Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
  • Proven project management experience including workload coordination.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance/control in project delivery.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Proficiency with statistical tools, database and GIS (e.g., ArcGIS).
  • Knowledge of road safety principles.
  • Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals for traffic studies/master planning.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., CIHT, ICE, TPS).
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally; adaptability in diverse cultural environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering/Planning.
  • Eligibility/chartership/certification from professional bodies (e.g., P.E., P.Eng., CEng, Chartered Transport Planner).
  • Innovative mindset and ability to develop creative, practical solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
