Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Guide project outcomes, manage teams and resources, contribute to proposals, and support client engagement for regional master plans, mixed-use developments, resorts, entertainment districts, and residential communities.
  • Independently manage, coordinate, and lead smaller, less complex projects with minimal oversight. May lead client meetings and take ownership of report structure and content.
  • Coordinate teams to prepare project deliverables and ensure technical input from various disciplines is integrated.
  • Work with client planning teams to manage and negotiate expectations and deliverables.
  • Initiate and drive innovative approaches for efficient project delivery (e.g., site analysis, due diligence).
  • Assess baseline conditions, analyze data, and develop criteria for master plans.
  • Develop implementation and phasing plans.
  • Communicate planning/environmental governance and policy, make recommendations to clients.
  • Prepare and review datasets to correlate population projections with market demand and supply.
  • Create project methodology for small-scale proposals and advance proposal submission processes.
  • Lead specialty topics/interests in urban planning (e.g., wellness, placemaking).
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and methods.
  • Mentor and coach graduate planners.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience delivering urban planning projects
  • Skills in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator), ArcGIS, MS Powerpoint
  • Analytical and report writing skills
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary project teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning and design, environment, urban policy, sustainable development or equivalent
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional membership: RTPI, AICP, PIA, CIP, SIP, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in Planning and/or Environmental Planning, ideally across private sector and government
