Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Source, underwrite, price, and negotiate commercial risks in the Space Economy, including technology risks associated with the supply chain, downstream providers, launch, and in-orbit risks.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in risk analysis and evaluation.
  • Negotiate and draft insurance products and endorsements.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with brokers and policyholders to establish new distribution channels and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct market research for new product development and improvements in underwriting methods.
  • Assist strategic planning through management information to evaluate portfolio performance.
  • Effectively market and articulate the company value proposition and offerings to clients and brokers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Distribution, Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance, and Technology.
  • Develop and refine rating models with actuaries for accurate, competitive pricing.
  • Prepare thorough risk exposure reports and mitigation recommendations.
  • Research trends, technologies, and regulations in the Space Economy to support innovative insurance product development.
  • Represent Relm at industry events and contribute to thought leadership initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide team members, contribute to KPIs, and participate in business-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial insurance underwriting for technology sectors; Space Economy insurance exposure is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or related field.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience developing rating models in collaboration with actuaries.
  • Skilled in preparing risk exposure reports and presenting to senior leaders.
  • Entrepreneurial, communication, and relationship-building strengths.
  • Capable in high-paced environments with multiple priorities.
  • Strong project management skills and organizational skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Mac OS a plus).
  • Willingness to work beyond core hours and travel overseas as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional insurance qualifications (e.g., ACII, CPCU).
  • Experience with product wordings development.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in technology and the Space Economy sector.
