Job description

Responsibilities

  • Create realistic 3D creature meshes and textures with fantastical details
  • Perform mesh sculpting and texturing
  • Utilize fur/hair card techniques for creature details
  • Work from pre-defined concept art and designs
  • Collaborate with team members via Slack and Trello
  • Provide or receive constructive feedback and criticism
  • Assist junior team members if teaching is required

Requirements

  • Experience creating realistic creature meshes and textures
  • Proficiency in creating fur sculpts using Hair Cards and Alpha Planes
  • Experience with Physically-based Rendering (PBR)
  • Experience working with low-poly and game-ready assets
  • Full texturing ability (Diffuse, Normal, Displacement, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 4
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (3DS Max, Maya, Blender, or similar)
  • Proficiency in texturing software (Photoshop, Substance Painter, etc.)
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, volunteer-based team environment

About the Company

Epoch Games is a volunteer-based, all-online, global game development team. We are currently developing The Lays of Althas: Sundered Order (LoA:SO), an indie open-world RPG set in an original fantasy world using Unreal Engine 4.
