Accounting and Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage customer invoicing processes and improve workflow efficiency
• Process accounts payable transactions with proper coding and documentation
• Oversee and execute payroll processing in coordination with Human Resources
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Maintain accurate financial records within accounting systems
• Support annual audit preparation through organized documentation
• Maintain state and local tax registrations
• Recommend process improvements to strengthen controls and increase efficiency
• Communicate effectively with vendors, internal teams, and leadership

Requirements

• 2 or 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent)
• 2+ years of experience in a relevant position
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Experience with NetSuite or other enterprise ERP systems
• Prior experience with general accounting and payroll
