Job description

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend amateur players for the First-Year Player Draft
  • Compose scouting reports on draft-eligible players
  • Utilize in-person looks, video, data, and technology to enhance decision making
  • Build relationships with players, families, and members of the baseball community
  • Complete comprehensive assessments of player backgrounds and makeup
  • Plan and organize workouts for player evaluation
  • Maintain area schedules and prioritize top prospects
  • Perform Pro Scouting coverage as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays in adverse outdoor conditions
  • Ability to own and operate a vehicle and travel extensively
  • Strong self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • High computer and internet proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of baseball information and evaluation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 3 years' experience in scouting, coaching, education, or business
  • Prior playing experience
