Job description
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend amateur players for the First-Year Player Draft
- Compose scouting reports on draft-eligible players
- Utilize in-person looks, video, data, and technology to enhance decision making
- Build relationships with players, families, and members of the baseball community
- Complete comprehensive assessments of player backgrounds and makeup
- Plan and organize workouts for player evaluation
- Maintain area schedules and prioritize top prospects
- Perform Pro Scouting coverage as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays in adverse outdoor conditions
- Ability to own and operate a vehicle and travel extensively
- Strong self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills
- High computer and internet proficiency
- Strong knowledge of baseball information and evaluation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 3 years' experience in scouting, coaching, education, or business
- Prior playing experience
