Associate General Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on People Team operations including hiring, performance management, and employment law compliance
• Support Product and AI teams regarding technology innovation and evolving regulatory landscapes
• Ensure compliance with privacy laws such as HIPAA and CPRA
• Identify and mitigate legal risks across operations and strategic initiatives
• Monitor healthcare-specific regulatory changes including value-based care and PACE programs
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with clinicians, facilities, and partners
• Manage relationships with outside counsel
• Advise executives on day-to-day operational and strategic decisions

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active membership in a state bar association (California preferred)
• Legal leadership experience in-house or at a law firm
• Experience supporting HR, Product, and Privacy teams
• Deep understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks and California-specific laws
• Experience engaging with regulatory bodies like CMS, DHCS, or OIG
