Backend Software Engineer

Wynd builds infrastructure that delivers massive amounts of web data to the companies training the world’s most powerful AI models. We power and support Grass, a bandwidth-sharing network that operates a massive distributed crawler, providing unique access to high-quality public web data at global scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect a custom Chromium-based browser tailored to specific networking and performance requirements
• Manage upstream Chromium releases and ensure custom patches are compatible with Google updates
• Own the crash-to-resolution pipeline by analyzing crash dumps and implementing robust fixes
• Build CI/CD and QA infrastructure to compile, test, and deploy a massive C++ codebase
• Identify bottlenecks within the browser engine and optimize C/C++ code for efficiency

Requirements

• Extensive experience writing high-performance C/C++ code
• Significant experience with the Chromium project or similar large-scale forks (Brave, Edge, Electron)
• Proficiency with GN, Ninja, Blink, and V8
• Deep understanding of OS internals (Linux/Windows/macOS), memory management, and multi-process architectures
• Experience managing complex Git workflows and large-scale upstream merges
• Experience with automated QA and deployment pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Rust
• Contributions to the Chromium Open Source Project
• Background in network protocol engineering or proxy infrastructure
• Expertise in build systems and compiler optimizations
