We deliver organic produce, high-quality meats and seafood, plant-based proteins, dairy, bakery, wine, and other grocery items to nearly every zip code in 48 states.

Responsibilities

• Develop, curate and execute category strategies to align with company goals
• Own the category P&L and negotiate to hit revenue, profit, SKU productivity, and food waste saving goals
• Support vendor relationships, focusing on driving competitive pricing, product quality, and timely delivery
• Conduct research to identify trends, competitor strategies, and consumer preferences
• Work with Inventory Planning, Operations, Logistics, Marketing, Product Development, and IT to execute category strategies
• Support sustainability initiatives within the category to reduce food waste
• Collaborate with product development teams to identify new product opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional industry experience
• Buying experience and strong negotiating skills
• Strategic and financial planning skills with understanding of P/L statements and margins
• Strong working knowledge of the food industry with established relationships
• Proficiency with G-Suite, Excel, Word and Retail Math
• Ability to travel <25% for trade shows and team offsites

Preferred Qualifications

• 4-6 years grocery retail or grocery sourcing experience
• Ecommerce or organic/natural food experience
