About the Company

End Water Poverty (EWP) is a Southern-led global civil society coalition advocating for the realisation of human rights to water and sanitation for all. The coalition includes 160+ member organisations across 90+ countries, bringing together grassroots organisations, NGOs, regional networks, and trade unions to address systemic inequalities and advance water justice worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic governance leadership and ensure effective functioning of the Steering Committee
• Act as a visible ambassador and spokesperson for the coalition
• Guide coalition priorities and strategic direction
• Support alignment across members and regions
• Oversee progress against the strategic plan and support succession processes
• Represent EWP at priority global events and fora
• Promote inclusive, transparent, and ethical governance
• Collaborate closely with the Vice Chair and the EWP Secretariat

Requirements

• Strong background in WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) or related sectors
• Experience in global advocacy, human rights, governance, or development
• Proven experience chairing or leading boards or multi-stakeholder bodies
• Experience working within complex global or regional coalitions
• Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, and communication skills
• Ability to facilitate inclusive dialogue and consensus-building

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong priority will be given to candidates from the Global South
