Claims Specialist

Responsibilities

• Interpret policy documents and legal contracts
• Analyze and identify coverage issues
• Manage, investigate, and resolve high-severity commercial claims
• Drive litigation and attend mediations, trials, and alternative dispute resolutions
• Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants
• Set and revise case reserves
• Identify suspicious claims for SIU referral and identify subrogation opportunities
• Provide guidance to independent field adjusters
• Partner with internal teams and advise leadership on claim exposures

Requirements

• BS/BA Degree
• 15+ years of experience in Commercial General Liability and Litigation
• In-depth knowledge of multi-jurisdictional claims handling
• Texas Independent Adjuster License (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Strong analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving technologies
• Willingness to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced studies or insurance designation
