Responsibilities

• Lead the full accounting function, including monthly close, general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, and inventory accounting
• Assess current state of function, team, systems, and key risks to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Bring audits, covenant reporting, and tax-related workstreams fully current
• Establish a reliable and well-controlled close process with clear timelines and documentation
• Lead relationships with external auditors, accountants, and tax advisors
• Build and execute a roadmap for improving accounting processes, controls, and systems
• Own accounting systems including NetSuite and partner with Operations to ensure efficient financial processes
• Manage and coach the accounting team, developing talent and recommending hiring priorities
• Partner with the SVP of Finance on priorities, risks, and communication with executive leadership
• Strengthen readiness for future financing, investment, or M&A activity

Requirements

• Significant progressive accounting experience, ideally as a Controller or Head of Accounting
• Experience in consumer products, retail, beauty, apparel, or inventory-based businesses
• Experience supporting financing, investment, acquisition, or sale processes
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, revenue recognition, accruals, and U.S. GAAP
• Meaningful experience with NetSuite
• Proven track record of leading external audits
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on with the work
• Strong people leadership and talent development skills
• Located in Eastern or Central time zone, or able to maintain substantial overlap with U.S. and U.K. teams

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
• Private equity backed company experience
