Responsibilities

• Own UAE entity governance and free-zone compliance, ensuring the entity is audit-ready and compliant with all statutory filings.
• Lead regulatory affairs by mapping the regulatory landscape and maintaining relationships with regulators, free-zone authorities, and banks.
• Manage UAE operations including banking relationships, corporate tax (9%), VAT registration, and annual statutory audits.
• Oversee visa sponsorship and immigration workflows for UAE-based hires.
• Partner with leadership to advise on the regulatory and operational implications of new products or market expansions.
• Deepen organizational influence by partnering with the CFO on cross-functional finance and risk matters.

Requirements

• 7+ years of operations, regulatory, or compliance leadership experience in the UAE.
• Hands-on familiarity with UAE free zones such as DMCC, IFZA, DIFC, ADGM, or JAFZA.
• Strong working knowledge of UAE corporate tax, VAT, and Federal Tax Authority requirements.
• Experience managing banking relationships and resolving KYC/compliance matters.
• Proven track record of running statutory audits and filings end-to-end.
• Experience working with legal counsel on UAE contracts, employment law, and governance.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in fintech, financial services, brokerage, or trading-adjacent industries.
• DIFC or ADGM-specific licensing experience.
• Working proficiency in Arabic.
• Existing relationships with UAE regulators or top legal/audit firms.
• Experience scaling a UAE entity through tax or regulatory transitions.
