About the Company

SOMNIA is the Agentic Chain - a hyper-performance L1 operating at an order of magnitude faster than existing networks. Somnia is being developed by Somnia Foundation backed by Improbable, a British tech Unicorn, and received initial funding from MSquared, which raised $150 million from a16z crypto, SoftBank, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Own the security posture of the L1 infrastructure including validators, RPC, and signing services
  • Define and roll out organizational policies for access control, secrets management, and secure SDLC
  • Drive application and supply-chain security, including dependency scanning and security reviews
  • Design and operate multisig governance, signing ceremonies, and the key lifecycle for treasury and upgrades
  • Build and lead the security incident-response capability, including detection, triage, and postmortems
  • Perform hands-on threat modeling, security reviews, and red-team exercises
  • Coordinate external audits and bug bounties
  • Work with infrastructure teams to ensure node and validator operations resist compromise

Requirements

  • Extensive security engineering experience with deep infrastructure security and SecOps expertise
  • Hands-on experience securing production systems (Linux, networking, containers/Kubernetes, IaC)
  • Proven track record of implementing security policies in an engineering organization
  • Deep knowledge of key management, including signing workflows, HSMs, and secrets management
  • Strong incident response leadership skills
  • Understanding of cryptography fundamentals applied to blockchain
  • Senior-level ownership and ability to influence without authority
  • Genuine interest in crypto and on-chain systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience securing blockchain L1/L2 node and validator infrastructure
  • Experience with multisig governance and treasury operations in production
  • Knowledge of EVM, smart contract security, and DeFi attack surfaces
  • Experience coordinating external audits and bug bounties
  • Background in red teaming, offensive security, or detection engineering
  • Experience with high-throughput or low-latency systems
