Enterprise Agent Engineer

About the Company

OpenHands is building an open source platform for cloud coding agents, helping engineering teams accelerate development, automate workflows, and bring AI-assisted coding into production environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the automation server to run agentic automations reliably and at scale
• Build the control plane including auditing, visibility, observability, and governance
• Build reference agents and automations such as code review, CVE remediation, and test generation
• Design end-to-end agent workflows including tool/API integration, context management, and orchestration
• Instrument and evaluate agents by measuring reliability, cost, latency, and outcomes
• Partner with Product and Forward-Deployed Engineering to turn workflows into durable product capabilities

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer building production systems
• 1+ years of hands-on experience building AI agents or agentic automations
• Experience building backend or platform services (APIs, long-running systems, observability layers)
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern developer workflows (CI/CD, Git)
• Fluency with LLMs, prompt/context design, tool/API integration, MCP, and workflow orchestration
• Outcomes-driven mindset focused on engineering efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with auditing, observability, or governance/control-plane systems
• Experience with AI developer tools like OpenHands, Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
• Significant open-source contributions
