General Manager, Africa

Responsibilities

• Lead regional market development: Own end-to-end identification, evaluation, and execution of high-value partnerships with banks across African markets (with possible expansion into Middle Eastern and European markets).
• Build and maintain key relationships: Serve as the primary relationship owner for prospective and existing customers; conduct regular in-person meetings, attend industry events, and manage partnership development.
• Own partnership execution: Lead complex deal processes from initial outreach through contract signature, working with Column’s Legal, Compliance, and Product teams.
• Develop market intelligence: Gather and synthesize insights on market conditions, regulatory developments, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform strategy.
• Market expertise and network: Become an expert on correspondent banking in key African markets and build an extensive network.
• Drive operational excellence: Create scalable processes for onboarding, relationship management, and support as Column expands.

Requirements

• 6+ years’ experience in business operations, growth, or partnerships in a high-caliber environment
• Proven track record in managing complex partnerships and high-value deals with executive stakeholders
• Natural networker skilled at building trust and long-term relationships with senior executives and market experts
• Strong strategic thinking to assess opportunities, evaluate partners, and provide strategic recommendations
• Highly organized approach to project management, able to juggle multiple projects and coordinate across teams
• Scrappy, hands-on approach with the ability to work creatively and collaboratively
