German Translator

Responsibilities

• Translate user interfaces for all Chess.com apps, including ChessKid and Dr Wolf
• Localize marketing campaigns and coach analysis/game review content
• Translate bot chat for monthly bot events
• Translate and edit graphical assets for various platforms
• Review previously submitted translations to ensure high quality and consistency

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in both English and German
• Proven professional experience in translating complex texts between English and German
• Deep understanding of chess terminology and mechanics
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, occasionally requiring a 24-48 hour turnaround
• Excellent communication skills and responsiveness on collaborative platforms like Slack

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic graphic editing skills for asset localization
• Exceptional linguistic knowledge and a strong grasp of language theory
• Demonstrated expertise in chess through competitive play or deep study
