Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Learn how field/project contacts assess Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) matters at AECOM.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing SH&E requirements, ensuring alignment with local regulations, project specifications, and AECOM's business standards.
  • Shadow on-site/project SH&E liaison, learning about compliance and maintaining stakeholder alignment.
  • Assist with inspections of contractor activities, ensuring adherence to SH&E policies, plans, and contractual obligations.
  • Document and communicate inspection findings, facilitating prompt resolution through the project reporting system.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in SH&E meetings, potentially taking on chairing and record-keeping responsibilities.
  • Learn how to submit comprehensive safety inspection reports to the Resident Engineer and/or project leads, seeking necessary support.
  • Review and assess risk mitigation documentation, including plans, procedures, Safe Work Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
  • Assist in the procedures to investigate incidents and near misses, following client and AECOM procedures, and implementing preventive measures.
  • Attend relevant training sessions, including risk assessment training, to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in SH&E, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field from an accredited University.
  • Recent 2024 or 2025 graduate to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8 (or equivalent) and above.
  • Available to start September 2025.
  • UAE National with a valid family book (as per Emiratisation and UAE labour law).
