Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead the KYB processes for new corporate customer onboarding, periodic and event-driven customer reviews, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Oversee KYP processes for onboarding and reviewing financial service providers.
- Ensure all KYB and KYP activities adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain and update Business Continuity Plans and support other compliance operations as needed.
- Manage, mentor, and develop KYB and KYP teams, setting performance standards and goals.
- Review collected customer information, conduct screenings, and oversee ongoing monitoring.
- Work with senior compliance leaders to monitor and assess financial crime risks.
- Develop, implement, and improve risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update policies, SOPs, and procedures in line with regulatory changes.
- Design targeted training programs and ensure knowledge gaps are addressed.
- Oversee generation and analysis of MI reports, reporting to leadership, and address operational gaps.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and operational effectiveness metrics.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on compliance matters and represent KYB/KYP functions in auditor meetings.
- Ensure readiness for external audits and regulatory inspections.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- ICA Diploma in Compliance, ACAMS or equivalent
- Proven experience leading a KYB function within a regulated entity, ideally in FinTech (UK/EU)
- Track record in developing and implementing KYB policies and controls
- Experience leading teams and managing complex compliance functions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Change management abilities
- In-depth understanding of UK regulatory environment, especially FCA, PSD2, AML
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and risk assessment
- Ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders
