Head of Sources & Mechanical Handling

Responsibilities

• Lead seismic source, mechanical handling, and NHV back deck activities to support best-in-class fleet performance.
• Manage a department of support staff, including mechanical, instrument, and field-based engineers.
• Maintain technical specifications and standards for marine acquisition projects.
• Develop and improve seismic source, mechanical handling, and NHV back deck technology with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Manage key suppliers of related technical services and monitor departmental spending and procurement.
• Monitor fleet downtime and implement programs to reduce operational interruptions.
• Develop competency catalogues for technical personnel and support HR in staff selection and development.
• Assist in responding to technical queries for tenders and marketing technical services to clients.
• Perform frequent international travel and occasional vessel visits.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with marine seismic survey methods and technologies.
• Detailed knowledge of towing, handling, and seismic sources.
• Degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Valid BOSIET or FOET certification for vessel visits.
