Infectious Disease Surveillance Consultant

Responsibilities

• Support strategic planning for infectious disease surveillance systems
• Conduct landscape analysis of surveillance systems and health information architecture
• Design or optimize indicator- and event-based surveillance, outbreak detection, or response systems
• Assist governments in integrating AI or advanced analytics into health system decision-making
• Develop technical reports, presentations, and operational frameworks
• Facilitate capacity building and workshops in English and/or French-speaking settings

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in infectious disease surveillance systems
• Fluency in English
• Strong client-facing communication and facilitation skills
• Ability to work independently in dynamic, multicultural environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field
• Professional proficiency in French
• Experience working with or advising Ministries of Health
• Prior experience with international donors such as the Global Fund, Gates Foundation, USAID, WHO, or KfW
• Knowledge of digital health tools such as DHIS2, malaria dashboards, or AI-supported surveillance platforms
• Experience living or working in or with Francophone countries
