Journalism Editor

Responsibilities

• Act as ranking site manager under the direction of the Publisher
• Assist in selecting and supervising site contributors
• Disseminate assignments congruent with the site's target demographic
• Work with contributors to develop AP Style articles from original ideas to completion
• Review and approve content
• Cross-check all citations and examine all references
• Conform to deadlines and production requirements
• Assist in creating and disseminating staff-related information

Requirements

• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Expert-level proficiency in AP Style writing format
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
• Comprehensive knowledge of diverse international social and political landscapes
• Proven capacity to analyze and interpret international events from multiple perspectives
• Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet stringent deadlines
• Expert knowledge of communication and mass media principles
• Proficiency in learning and adapting to new online content media platforms
• Previous editorial or content management experience
• Capability to effectively manage and lead a team of seven reporters

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or current graduate-level studies in Journalism, English, or a closely related field
• Prior writing, reporting, or editing experience with academic publications or reputable outlets
