Lead Instructor: Software Development

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, live, virtual instruction to large groups of diverse learners
• Prepare and lead virtual classroom sessions, managing Q&A and engagement dynamics
• Collaborate with operations personnel to ensure smooth program delivery
• Assist in lesson design, development, and curriculum improvement
• Conduct rigorous oral defenses of student code to ensure comprehension
• Foster a positive, charismatic, and engaging learning environment

Requirements

• Senior Engineer or Tech Lead persona with a passion for mentoring
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, and Linux
• Mastery of Red/Green TDD and Git/GitHub (Branching, PRs, Actions)
• Experience with Gemini CLI and Google AI Studio
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Cloudflare, and Google Cloud Run
• Ability to work according to AEST time zone (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 19:00 - 21:30 AEST)
• Strong communication skills and a charismatic, approachable teaching style

Preferred Qualifications

• GitHub Foundations (GH-900) certification
• OpenEDG JS Institute — JSE certification
