Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Mozilla’s core privacy compliance infrastructure, including data mapping and records of processing activities.
- Drive complex cross-functional privacy initiatives and operationalize scalable governance processes across the global organization.
- Advise on evolving U.S., European, and international privacy and AI-related regulatory developments.
- Manage third-party privacy risk assessments, including vendor DPIAs, LIAs, and TIAs.
- Support the privacy incident response program, including triage, risk assessment, and remediation coordination.
- Provide privacy advice during M&A transactions and post-close integration activities.
Requirements
- J.D. degree and membership in a state bar in good standing.
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantial in-house experience advising on global privacy and data governance.
- Proven experience building privacy compliance infrastructure, such as governance frameworks and risk rubrics.
- Ability to operate independently and drive practical, scalable outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex legal concepts for diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with privacy engineering, governance tooling, or automated compliance workflows.
- Experience supporting privacy investigations or incident response.
- High fluency in internet technologies and software development.
- CIPP or related privacy certifications.
