Legal Expert - Product Market Regulation

Responsibilities

• Serve as the country legal expert for the OECD Product Market Regulation (PMR) assessment.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research to complete the PMR questionnaire in compliance with OECD guidelines.
• Provide detailed references and precise citations for all relevant legal and administrative sources.
• Validate regulatory information with government counterparts through IDB-led consultations.
• Respond to OECD data verification queries and revise documentation as required.
• Support the production, review, and commenting of descriptive reports on PMR results.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Law or a field relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
• At least five (5) years of professional experience in competition policy and regulatory analysis.
• Excellent written English skills for preparing questionnaire responses and analytical reports.
• Citizenship of an IDB member country.
• Ability to work remotely and manage own workspace and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with competition authorities, ministries, regulatory agencies, or international organizations.
• Familiarity with OECD methodologies, competition assessments, or regulatory impact analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory instruments.
