Manufacturing Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies using FreeCAD or comparable software
• Develop comprehensive engineering drawings, including GD&T and tolerance stack-ups
• Design for manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, plastics, and injection molding
• Perform CAD validation and quality assurance reviews
• Prepare technical documentation and assembly instructions for AI model training
• Incorporate feedback from technical reviewers to improve CAD models

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing
• Expertise in FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software
• Hands-on exposure to sheet metal, CNC, plastics, and injection molding design
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
• Ability to produce production-grade CAD models
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Python scripting experience for CAD automation
