Metadata and Catalog Specialist

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain metadata management, business glossary, data catalog, and data lineage capabilities
• Configure and administer data governance and metadata platforms
• Establish metadata standards, naming conventions, and management practices
• Develop and maintain enterprise and domain-level business glossaries
• Integrate metadata from source systems, data lakes, APIs, and BI platforms
• Implement data ownership, stewardship, and approval workflows
• Partner with Data Architects and Stewards to maintain trusted metadata
• Develop dashboards to measure catalog adoption and governance maturity

Requirements

• MA/MS degree with 5+ years of general information systems experience and 7+ years of specialized experience
• Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise data governance programs
• Experience governing high-sensitivity or regulated data
• Proficiency in translating governance policy into operational processes
• Strong process mapping, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Federal Government or regulated environments
• Experience with enterprise data governance/catalog platforms
• Data management certification
