Norwegian Tech Linguistic Tester

Responsibilities

• Proofread and edit localized content in Norwegian to ensure linguistic accuracy, catching errors in grammar, syntax, punctuation, and capitalization
• Evaluate translations within the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation
• Discover, write, and report bugs and functional UI issues using internal database systems and client-specific tracking tools
• Adhere to project-specific quality standards, style guides, trademarks, and glossaries
• Act as a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in the target language, researching and resolving complex questions
• Complete assigned testing tasks and QA processes in a timely manner following specific test cases
• Troubleshoot basic problems and effectively escalate testing issues when necessary

Requirements

• Native-level or fully bilingual fluency in Norwegian (both spoken and written)
• Strong English language skills, both written and verbal
• 3+ years of professional translation and localization experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems
• Basic knowledge of PC hardware and the ability to navigate various web browsers
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Localization, QA testing, or professional translation
• Advanced computer skills and familiarity with consumer devices (messaging, health, fitness, etc.)
• Avid user of social media with familiarity with the Facebook Family of Apps
