Responsibilities

  • Provide initial medical assessments and ongoing follow-up visits via telehealth to patients with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions
  • Order and interpret labs and act on results
  • Make medical clearance decisions and conduct refeeding monitoring as clinically indicated
  • Manage medications within licensed scope of practice
  • Care for patients with co-occurring GI, sleep, chronic disease, and neurodivergent presentations
  • Collaborate with Registered Dietitians and therapists through coordinated treatment planning and biweekly case conferencing
  • Escalate clinical-safety and medical-instability concerns per clinical policies
  • Contribute to medical protocols, safety floors, and escalation pathways
  • Complete clinical documentation in EMR within 72 hours of encounters

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license in good standing with prescriptive authority
  • Current national board certification (FNP-BC/FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, AGNP, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience providing eating disorder care
  • Ability to practice under a collaborative practice agreement where required
  • Proficiency with telehealth and cloud-based EMR systems
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace
  • Alignment with weight-inclusive, anti-diet, and HAES frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outpatient eating disorder experience in a virtual or telehealth program
  • Experience at a higher level of care (residential, PHP, IOP)
  • Experience treating adolescents and minors
  • Experience contributing to clinical protocols or workflows
