Job description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Emirates Nature–WWF and key stakeholders, including fishing communities, cooperatives, and local authorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and government entities to support fisheries restoration and marine conservation.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, consultations, and community events to promote engagement in conservation activities.
  • Support awareness campaigns related to ghost gear prevention, sustainable fisheries, and circular economy initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for field activities, training sessions, and public outreach events.
  • Assist in developing Arabic-language communication materials and represent the organization at community events.
  • Maintain detailed records of engagement activities and provide regular updates to the project team.

Requirements

  • Must be a UAE National.
  • 2–5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, government relations, or project coordination.
  • Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Emirati culture and local community dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and work in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working specifically with fishing communities or marine environmental programs.
  • Familiarity with UAE government structures and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Proven experience facilitating workshops or public consultations.
