Patient Access Tech II

Responsibilities

• Build pre-service patient cost estimates for outpatient clinics from a centralized work queue
• Review daily appointment reports to identify patients qualifying for cost estimates
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits using electronic tools and third-party websites
• Build cost estimates within the electronic health record using correct templates and fee schedules
• Identify and document system, template, or payer-related defects and escalate issues
• Analyze estimate volume, accuracy, and payer trends to identify performance improvement opportunities
• Coordinate patient access activities including phone calls, scheduling, registration, and referral management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Ability to sit constantly and stand/walk frequently
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
