Payment Transformation and Compliance AI Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans defining scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, and budget for payments modernisation and compliance initiatives.
• Establish and maintain governance, controls, and reporting aligned to the bank's transformation framework; present progress, risks, and issues to program management and Steering Committees.
• Proactively assess and mitigate risks related to compliance, data security, and project delivery; balance scope, time, cost, and quality.
• Lead cross-functional teams (IT, Legal, Operations, Business) and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely, high-quality execution.
• Oversee API integration, core banking changes, and payments infrastructure modernisation while enforcing auditability and change control.
• Use standard tooling (Jira, Confluence) to manage delivery, sprints, artifacts, and documentation.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and influence senior stakeholders to secure decisions and remove impediments.
• Ensure compliance to payment-specific regulations and standards (e.g., PSD2, AML/CFT, PCI DSS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) or Agile/Scrum experience.
• Prior experience managing large-scale payments or core banking transformation programmes in retail or wholesale banking.
• Hands-on familiarity with SWIFT, SEPA, Instant Payments and global payments networks.
• Demonstrable experience with PSD2, AML/KYC, PCI DSS implementation and related audit processes.
• Proven ability to maintain data integrity during migrations, preventing mapping errors across historical and customer datasets.
• Experience working with ISO 20022 message formats and migration strategies.
• Strong track record engaging C-suite and senior stakeholders and managing third-party vendors.
