Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain embedded software architecture for robotic platforms
• Lead technical design reviews and mentor embedded software engineers
• Design and develop software for robot motion control, navigation, sensor fusion, and safety systems
• Integrate Lidar, cameras, IMUs, and motor controllers
• Partner with Electrical and Mechanical teams for hardware integration and board bring-up
• Implement real-time software with fault tolerance and graceful degradation
• Define testing strategies including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Robotics
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience
• 3+ years of technical leadership or lead engineering experience
• Experience developing software for mobile robotic systems
• Strong proficiency in C and C++
• Experience with embedded Linux systems
• Experience with RTOS and software architecture design
• Experience debugging hardware/software interactions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs)
• Background in warehouse automation, logistics, or industrial automation
• Familiarity with navigation, localization, and sensor fusion
• Experience with safety-critical or mission-critical systems
• Experience with Zephyr RTOS or OpenWRT
• Experience in Agile development environments
