Job description

QS4QS is looking for talented and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyors to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and to the required standards. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee project costs, conduct feasibility studies, and provide valuable insights throughout the lifecycle of various construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on detailed analysis and evaluation of drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis, advising on the financial viability of projects.
  • Manage and advise on contractual matters, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, providing regular reports on financial status to stakeholders.
  • Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of claims for additional costs and variations.
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress, monitor quality, and ensure that work is completed to specification.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and regulations to provide informed advice to clients and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and market rates.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, RICS) is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as needed.
