Research Director

Responsibilities

• Set organization-wide priorities for learning and large-scale M&E across LLS, District Transformation, and Cash + Coaching
• Own the strategy and standards for large-scale, strategic M&E, including monitoring reach, exclusion, and downstream impact
• Provide senior technical leadership on formal research and manage academic partnerships
• Support product design decisions regarding transfer size, cadence, and targeting using evidence and analysis
• Build and lead a small, highly leveraged team through mentoring and support
• Represent GiveDirectly’s research and M&E agenda to donors, academic partners, and the media
• Develop models to predict and communicate impact at scale, including cost-effectiveness and ROI

Requirements

• Experience in strategic M&E and impact learning
• Ability to provide senior technical leadership in formal research
• Experience building and leading professional teams
• Ability to manage high-stakes external research relationships and academic partnerships
• Strong analytical capacity for evidence synthesis and product design support
