Senior Concept Artist

About the Company

HyperHug is an international game development studio specializing in the shooter genre. We are currently developing Oxide: Survival Island, an immersive multiplayer survival shooter for mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support concepts through all stages of production, preparing materials for handoff to 3D and providing direction for animation and VFX
• Create concepts for weapon skins, including upgradeable skins and progression lines
• Develop concepts for armor and gear skins
• Work with references, building side-collections and design variations, and refining concepts based on team feedback
• Collaborate with game designers, 2D & 3D artists, animators, and the producer
• Create concepts for new in-game assets such as weapons, vehicles, locations, and 2D icons as needed

Requirements

• Experience creating concepts that reached final implementation in a shipped game
• Portfolio featuring weapon, skin, or gear concepts in a realistic or semi-realistic style
• Understanding of 3D production specifics including shape, silhouette, and materials
• Ability to produce production-ready work including callouts, angle breakdowns, and material notes
• Skill in working with references to build collections and skin series
• Ability to work quickly and iteratively
• English proficiency at B1+ level
• Russian proficiency at C1 level

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with character, armor, and gear concepts
• Experience working on mobile shooters or survival games
• Understanding of technical constraints on mobile platforms
• Confident use of AI tools in your working pipeline
