Senior Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of electrical and control systems for automated material handling projects
• Develop and implement PLC and HMI programs, primarily using Rockwell Automation
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Manage and mentor controls and commissioning engineers
• Participate in system integration, testing, and on-site commissioning
• Improve standard PLC control libraries, templates, and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues during production and commissioning phases

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in controls system design, PLC/HMI development, and site commissioning
• Expertise with Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC platforms
• Proficiency with HMI software such as FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Aveva, or Indusoft
• Solid understanding of network protocols including EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet, and ControlNet
• Familiarity with VFDs and motion control applications
• Ability to travel for project installation and support

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a related engineering discipline
• Experience with Beckhoff and Codesys
