Senior Data Engineer

Beacon Biosignals is on a mission to revolutionize precision medicine for the brain. We are the leading at-home EEG platform supporting clinical development of novel therapeutics for neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to design new integrations and services for scaling the data platform
• Implement features with high standards for data integrity, design soundness, and maintainability
• Draft RFCs to lead complex feature discovery and technical design phases
• Leverage feedback to improve operational robustness via new documentation, tools, and dashboards
• Design and scale backend systems for data infrastructure, including event-driven pipelines and APIs

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• 2+ years focused on data engineering, data platforms, or data infrastructure
• Strong proficiency in SQL and production experience with PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with data streaming and event processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Amazon Kinesis)
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Julia
• Experience deploying services in containerized environments using Kubernetes and IaC (Terraform or Helm)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous remote work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Julia
• Experience in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) for API integration work
