Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Write production-ready Python code daily to build and maintain data pipelines for Insights products
• Own the full project lifecycle from design and shipping to production reliability
• Set and lead the technical direction of the Insights platform
• Raise engineering standards through testing, observability, and data quality checks
• Integrate AI into workflows, from research and prototyping to operational agents
• Lay foundations for emerging MCP and semantic layers to enable AI-driven querying

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with well-tested Python code
• Proven track record of building data pipelines and production systems from the ground up
• Deep experience with SQL, Spark, Databricks/Delta Lake, orchestration (Dagster, Airflow, or Temporal), and dbt
• Proficiency with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud-based infrastructure
• Product mindset with the ability to understand business domains and shape technical approaches
• Strong communication skills to influence peers and non-technical stakeholders
• Evidence of using AI to drive efficiency in research, prototyping, or operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to semantic layers, ontologies, or text-to-SQL
• Experience applying AI operationally within data platforms or pipelines
