Senior QA Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the E2E test suite by designing, building, and maintaining automated tests in Playwright (TypeScript)
• Backfill and prioritize coverage for critical user journeys
• Root-cause flaky tests and establish quarantine and retry policies
• Partner with DevOps to shape CI integration, execution frequency, and deployment gating
• Coach developers on writing high-quality Playwright tests and establish testing patterns
• Report on quality metrics including test coverage and defect escape rates

Requirements

• 5+ years in quality engineering, test automation, or software engineering
• Deep hands-on expertise with Playwright
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript
• Fluency in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI)
• Proven track record of diagnosing and eliminating test flakiness at scale
• Ability to work independently and drive an ambiguous mandate to completion

Preferred Qualifications

• API-layer test automation experience (REST, contract testing)
• Experience defining quality metrics and reporting to leadership
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails applications
• Experience with test data management or Docker-based infrastructure
• Experience using AI-assisted tools like Claude Code or Copilot
